The goal of the Legacy Path was to build tradition and pride at the University of Hawaii and provide a sense of place on the Manoa campus. It honors the link between the university and its alumni, faculty, staff, friends and community.
The path is a beautification project that in the future will include a pedestrian mall from Dole Street to Varney Circle. The first phase includes the gateway, a semicircle pattern of bricks opposite the Law School. Individual bricks can be purchased and inscribed with a message of achievement, tribute or remembrance.
