The goal of the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) is to provide a high quality working and living environment for Navy personnel. Base appearance is an important element in achieving this goal as a quality base appearance sends a strong message and demonstrates pride and professionalism to Navy military and enlisted personnel and the public.
Base Exterior Architecture Plans (BEAP's) provide guidance specifically tailored to the individual base. Three separate BEAP's were prepared for COMFLEACT Yokosuka, COMFLEACT Sasebo, and NAF Atsugi.
The BEAP’s are comprised of an introductory discussion of objectives, scope and existing conditions, design guides to establish consistent standards for site design, architecture, landscaping, building color, signage and site furnishings, and implementation.
The Landscape Design Guide is intended to provide a comprehensive program for incorporating landscaping into the installation’s physical setting and includes three main areas: Landscape Planning, Plant Material, and Landscape Maintenance.
